The Association for Learning Environments (formerly CEFPI, Council of Education Facilities Planners International) is a not-for-profit organisation, first established in 1921, sharing knowledge, experience, expertise and best practices in planning, managing and operating learning environments.  Robert Bienvenu served on the Victorian Chapter Council committee for ten years.  Early in his tenure he took on the challenge of collating and publishing all the Awards entries.  Initially this included submissions Australia wide, however more recently it just focuses on Victorian submissions.  This is a major undertaking and all of the staff at KDA are called upon to carry out various roles- collating, page layout, photo & text selection, proof reading, editing, liaising with the publishers and finally issuing for distribution. It is not surprising the job has been challenging; from learning a new skill, often by trail and error, to mastering it and then fine tuning the process for the final outcome.  However, we breath a sigh of relief and smile with achievement when we open the boxes and flick through a new fresh bound copy, all the months and hours of work dispel.  The publications keep rolling out each year and fortunately the print run sells out, both locally and internationally. In keeping with an official publication each book is issued with an international ISBN number and one copy is retained in the Victorian State Library.
