Through a renovation and extension to the existing building, St Nicholas Anglican Church was finally given the renovation and extension required to provide the congregation and local community with a space for groups and workshops.
Several steps lead visitors through a new entrance to the foyer and meeting place. The new extension is connected to the west side of the existing building by a glazed roof preserving the building’s original features, including the beautiful restored stained windows. The extension contains offices for the vicar and staff, as well as a meeting place that opens up to a commercial kitchen via a sliding door. The existing church has been given an extensive renovation and refurbishment by realigning the worship to face east. The original sanctuary has been turned into a gallery dedicated to exhibitions and displays. A new memorial garden is surrounded by a curved wall to give the garden a sense of serenity and reflection away from the street.
